BVTV18 Student-interns earn top honor

Two students in the Blue Valley School District's Broadcast Technology program earned first place in the 2007 e-Magine competition sponsored by Olathe Northwest High School. 

Taking home the first place prize in the Video Production - Broadcast division were Kayte Steinmetz and Sam Frickleton .  They teamed up to tell the story of a Russian-born youngster with disabilities who is growing up in America.

This is the second year of this contest which is open to all Johnson County and Sunflower League high school students.  Complete information and a complete list of winners is available online at www.eravens.net/emagine/

Members of the BVTV18 Student News Team learn the advanced skills necessary as reporters and operators of studio and field equipment through hands-on training and practical application. Student productions include a one-hour live weekly news show, Good Morning, Blue Valley and Blueprints, a news magazine.

The remaining members of the 2006-07 Student News Team are:  Jason Browar, Courtney Bullis, Matt Compton, Makensie Davis, Greg Dubinsky, Alex Freeman, Garrett Griffin, John Kurtz, Andy Lavin, Laura Licata, Brit Muhl, Phil Nohe, Mary Ellen Patterson, Hannah Pederson, Alex Sandmoen, Mike Sapenoff, Michael Simpson, Scott Simpson, and Jeremiah Watkins.
